In this concert, the Prague Chamber Orchestra presents some paradigmatic pieces of the different trends in Hungarian classical music of the 19th century. The works of F. Liszt evoke dances and popular themes, from a clearly cosmopolitan and international perspective. B. Bartok is considered, together with Kodaly, one of the pioneers of modern ethnomusicology. His music is constructed using rhythmic-melodic structures from the folk culture of some areas of Eastern Europe.
