Quartet and Quintet in Quasi-Classical Style

Chamber music was key to the consolidation of an idea of Russian classical music. Written following the classical forms of the genre, the two pieces presented in this program, composed by P. I. Tchaikovsky and A. Arensky, testify how the poetics of the two authors is largely the result of the deep assimilation of the stylistic features of the great German classics.
