The concert

This DAVIVIENDA Gold Series concert will explore chamber music composed in the 17th century for voice and accompaniment by composers who laid the foundations for western classical music and opera. With fragments of works by Monteverdi, Cavalli, Scarlatti, Bononcini, Vivaldi and Händel we will hear how genres such as the aria and the cantata, which emerged in the Middle Ages, acquired a new meaning with the emergence of opera in this century. Trying to imitate and sing as the human voice was fundamental for melodic instruments.

Join us in the discovery of the history of the opera together with the best Italian and Colombian artists in an intimate concert, as it would have taken place inside one of the Medicis’ residences.
