Biography

Laura Hoyos is an outstanding violinist with a solid background and a constantly evolving career in the world of music. Her musical journey began under the tutelage of her father and brother, culminating with honors at The Mannes School of Music in New York, where she was guided by renowned violinist Shmuel Ashkenasi.

Laura has excelled on the international stage by participating in courses and festivals around the world, including Keshet Eilon Masterclasses in Israel and Lac Léman Music Masterclasses in Switzerland. She has also had the honor of performing at the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide in Yerevan, Armenia, with the 24/04 World Orchestra.

Her leadership on stage was evident during her time as concertmaster of the Orquesta Filarmónica Juvenil de Cámara de Bogotá, where she collaborated with outstanding artists such as Julian Rachlin, Krzysztof Penderecki and Andrés Orozco-Estrada.

Laura has excelled as a soloist on several occasions, including several performances at the Cartagena Music Festival and with the Bogota Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, transmitting her skill and passion for music with fervor and temperament. Laura does not limit herself to being an outstanding performer; she also enjoys teaching, sharing the beauty and transformative power of music with future generations with dedication. Her commitment to music goes beyond the stage and finds purpose in her pedagogical vocation. Laura Hoyos has traveled a path marked by her love for music, from her beginnings to her consolidation as a soloist and leader on stage.
