Biografía

Pianist, teacher and entrepreneur, Ana María Orduz is a key figure in the piano culture of the city of Medellín (Colombia). Recognized for “her passion on stage, her great expressiveness, her extensive musical trajectory and her determination to create culture around the piano” (Yamaha), Ana María is founder and co-director of the Piano Festival of the Americas and the founder and director of the Pianissimo Foundation, with which she organizes concert series and the Pianissimo Festival and Competition. 

She has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York and at festivals in Malaysia, Spain, Costa Rica, Chile, Italy, Singapore, Brazil, Colombia, USA, and Chile.  Ana María Orduz is an active chamber music partner and develops projects with her colleagues José García (clarinet), Diego Arango (piano) and Carlos Betancur (piano). She received her undergraduate degree Suma Cum Laude from the University of Memphis (USA), and her master’s degree and doctorate from the University of Iowa (USA).  She is currently an associate professor at the University of Antioquia (Medellín, Colombia), where she coordinates the piano area. Since 2017 she has been a Yamaha Piano Artist.
