New dates

From January 9 to 17, 2027, the Cartagena Festival will turn the walled city into the most important stage for classical music. Over nine days, internationally renowned artists will offer concerts, master classes, and cultural activities, blending art and heritage in a unique experience in the heart of the Colombian Caribbean.

Recognized as Cultural Heritage of the Nation under Law 2340 of 2023, the festival stands out for its commitment to musical training and public access to culture.

Theme

The dialectic between the universal and the local will be the central theme of the XXI Cartagena Music Festival. Exploring how the eternal and the identity-rooted coexist in art is, in my opinion, a unique experience: this dialogue expands the emotional repertoire and connects deep roots. A sonic journey that allows us to feel history through its spirit and its land, and to understand the composer’s creative process.

Academic programs

One of the essential components of the Cartagena Music Festival is its academic program, which runs alongside the concerts and includes training activities and knowledge-sharing sessions, such as luthier workshops, lecture-concerts with international guests, and immersive experiences that will take place at the Palacio de la Proclamación.
